Public Health Practice
The Mountain West Preparedness and
Emergency Response Learning Center (MWPERLC) has been providing public
health preparedness training, exercise support, and technical assistance
to the public health
workforce in the inter-mountain west region for the past 10 years.
Throughout those years, we have established a strong network of public
health system partners in, but not limited to, the health care delivery
system, homeland security and public safety, emergency
management, employers and businesses, media, academia, and community
groups. In our continuous effort to expand our workforce development
activities, the MWPERLC is moving towards a national agenda to enhance
the impact of the translation and dissemination
of training outcomes and products to improve public health practice and
enhance health security. For additional public health workforce training opportunities, visit the
University of Arizona’s Western Regional Public Health Training Center.
