This three-module course is designed to equip prescribers with critical knowledge and tools to support maternal mental health in Arizona. The course will begin with an introduction to the current state of maternal mental health in Arizona, highlighting key challenges and disparities. Module 1 of the course focuses on perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, with an emphasis on safe and effective medication management. Module 2 addresses substance use disorders during the perinatal period, offering evidence-based approaches for treatment. Given the rise in opioid use nationally and in Arizona, Module 3 focuses specifically on the management of Opioid Use Disorder in pregnancy and breastfeeding. By the end of the course, participants will feel more informed and confident in delivering compassionate, effective care to this vulnerable population.
