Cultural humility is an ongoing process of self-reflection and growth. For public health and healthcare teams, it means creating an environment where diverse perspectives are valued, power imbalances are recognized, and continuous learning is embraced. Unlike cultural competence, which focuses on knowledge acquisition, cultural humility acknowledges that we can never fully understand another's cultural experience. This approach transforms how teams work together and provide care for patients and communities. In this module you'll discover practical ways to build psychological safety, strengthen interprofessional collaboration, and advocate for organizational support.
